ARGH the weather and all that!

Have had an interesting couple of weeks. Jim and I went to see The Bourne Supremacy at the new Rave Theatre at Patton Creek this past Saturday, but were unable to finish it because of the weather. It seems the power kept going out, which stopped the movie (obviously). About 3/4 of the way through the movie, and after a half dozen or so flickers and restarts, a manager came around and gave everyone a free pass to apologize for the “movie stutters.” Unfortunately, the power went out and stayed out with about 10-15 minutes left of the movie. We sat for about 15 minutes and the manager came back and told us that we were all getting another free pass each, and they were clearing out the building.

(Great! It’s storming something terrible outside, and you want to send us all out IN it!?)   ::blink::

I’m pleased to say that my cousin Chris is doing much better. He was involved in a motorcycle accident earlier this month, and is apparently awake now. Although he’s not yet able to speak, Chris clearly understands when spoken to and can wave and nod when needed to communicate.

I had received a call from Trish, an old friend, last week that another long time friend, Victoria, had accidentally overdosed on her medication and had to be taken to the hospital. She had been in the Critical Care Unit for most of the week, and I found out today that she was released from the hospital and is well on her way to recovering. (hugs and prayers sent your way, girl!)

I’m tired “as all get out,” so I’m cutting this one short tonight. (I know y’all Yanks love my Southern rhetoric, hehe)

But anyway …

I hate doing Bio’s, but a friend of mine sent me one of those “a few things about me” questionaire type thingies … I thought it would be fun to do it and pass the results to half of my addressbook — and to see who would actually respond. *g*

Oh boy, almost a month since my last post …

Time passes so quickly, it’s almost mid-summer already. jeeeeeeeez!

I attended my 11th year high school reunion (we didn’t have a 10-year last year, so this year makes 11 — I suddenly feel old, LOL!) last night and had a good time. It was fun to see some of the people I grew up with and see what they’re up to and how much (or little) they’ve changed. It was a joy for me to see a guy I had a crush on and see that he’s still looking *ahem* very good, and doing well. (Hey, I have eyes too, I’m not dead ya know!)

I was a little disappointed because there were a handful of people that I looked forward to talking to most who didn’t show. In particular was a gentleman who is in my line of work and I wanted to talk to him about various things — and to see if perhaps he wanted to exchange contacts. (Hey, I *am* still looking for a job, LOL!)

We also learned of a classmate of ours who passed away a few months ago. Apparently he and his family died in a house fire. Very tragic. :(

On to other topics: My dad has decided to stop speaking to me again. *rolls eyes* I don’t know what it is that I’ve done to piss him off this time, but everytime I call over there now, he makes an excuse to hand off the phone to my mother or my brother Jeremy. Oh well, sometimes I feel like my attempts to keep a halfway-friendly relationship with him are futile, but I know that if I don’t at least try I will regret it later.

Work is going ok. We’re having software issues with the new multimedia server. It was originally running Windows Server 2003, but had to put XP back on it to get some of the software to work — and I use the term “work” loosely.

I’ve had to put my PHP project on hold due to my workload, but at least I am getting a lot of graphic design work done. Nothing fancy, just plain-jane logos, but it’s work just the same.

Oh, I had meant to make a post but never found the time, Jim and I went to see Spider-man 2 the night it opened … EXCELLENT MOVIE! A little more of a “weeper” than I expected (ladies, take some tissues!), but I thought it was well worth it. We will definitely be adding it to our DVD collection when it’s released.

It’s getting pretty late, and I’m pooped so I’m ending this post here. I had wanted to talk about more, but can’t think of anything … I’m sure it will come to me later.
