Quick update: Jim’s mom made it through the surgery OK. She’s bruised and her face is swollen something horrible. Poor thing looks like someone beat her up. Her jaws are wired shut, so she’s on a liquid diet for about 10 weeks. She came home Saturday afternoon, and will stay home for most of the time she’s ‘out’.

I’m still sick, and in fact going to miss another day of work. I’m exhausted because I haven’t had a good night’s sleep since I got this stupid cold. Jim’s still irritable because he’s not completely over his either … and he’s not happy about me staying home. He has to take my support calls when I’m not there.

I’ll make it up to him. In the meantime, I’m gonna finish reading the job ads and news, then go back to bed. If I could sleep through an entire hour without coughing something up, it will be a miracle.
