This is my digital sandbox and proverbial playground. I am a web designer living in Birmingham, Alabama. I'm an avid gamer, a former editor for Addons.Mozilla.Org, and spend a good deal of my time in the WordPress community. I am also an active Soldiers' Angels member and a Community Team Leader for Soldiers' Angels in Alabama. I am all this and much more, but in short I am: a web designer, a geek, a gamer and an aspiring super mom.

I used the British version on Netflix, LoveFilm for about a year and a bit. I really loved it for a while.

But I lost interest in watching the films at the start of the year and canceled it about 3 weeks ago because I'm a poor student and really cannot afford to be spending the money If I don't watch the films.

If really buy that many DVD's then yes its defiantly worth it

Oh HELL YES! I use Netflix and LOVE it. I've used Blockbuster in the past, and while I liked to ability to return movies and exchange at the brick-n-mortar stores....Blockbuster's policies SUCK. They raised prices with a week's notice, twice in less than a year. And the second price increase was of INSANE proportions.

Netflix is a much better deal. Unless money is no object to you :)

Netflix also doesn't throttle like BB does, nor play "the movie you want is forever on 'long wait' status" like BB does. I'm much happier with Netflix. I have the 3-out plan, and it's well worth the less than $20 a month.

There's a *wealth* of information there.

We use Netflix and have DVR through our cable company. I have about 3 movies sitting on the DVR to watch this weekend and 3 DVDs from Netflix (Torchwood Season 1) sitting by the tv to watch. I would highly recommend Netflix. Mojo is correct and I've had this problem before - even lost a couple with no hassles.

Nicki,
I use Blockbuster's service. After you get the movies, you can return them to the store and then while you are waiting for the new ones to arrive in the mail, they let you rent replacements from the store for free. Plus they send you one coupon per month for a free store rental. Also no late fees. The only place they fall short of NetFlix is not having a download service.

If your PC has NTSC video out, you could hook up your TV or VCR
and pick up a movie from http://watch-movies.net/ I found the
movie "Mirror Mask" on there and it's one of the movies I've been
looking for. Another site is http://www.hulu.com/ It has TV shows
and movies. You could take an old PC and turn it into a video server
with Media Portal http://www.team-mediaportal.com/ Come on,
nothing can stop geeks and geekets.

I have a friend that uses Netflix and she and her husband LOVE it. It's convenient, and much cheaper than buying all those movies that turned out to be a bust anyway. (and NO LATE FEES!)

Oh hells yeah Netflix is worth it. We've used it since they came out 5-7 years ago(?). Flawless. If a DVD breaks in the mail, you aren't responsible, just report it & they will replace it. Hold on to them as long as you want. Next day shipping. Brilliant.

I just dropped returns in the mail & I will get 3 new discs on Saturday.
