New WordPress theme released: Christmas Is Near

I appreciate all of the feedback and comments everyone has given me over the course of the testing and development of this theme. I’ve spent the better part of this week tidying up my code and preparing this theme for release. I have updated my Portfolio page to include the new theme, and plan to update my previous WordPress themes. (I will update the page when that is done as well!)
This theme is not yet uploaded to Wordpress.net, but I have emailed the site owner asking about submissions and how to go about updating my previous themes.

Christmas Is Near is a Christmas-inspired theme for WordPress 2.1+ (recommended: 2.3+). It includes a light snowy script by Kurt Grigg (via Dynamic Drive). Tonkawa Holiday icons courtesy of John Marstall (via Icon Buffet).

Distribution
I have a problem over the past year or so with so-called “free theme” sites offering my themes among their downloads. The majority of these I’ve seen have added paid advertising scripts to my code.
There are only two places where my themes are available:
- This website.
- The WordPress Theme Viewer site: http://themes.wordpress.net/
Any other sites that are distributing my themes are doing so WITHOUT my expressed permission and may be edited or changed from the original code. I will not support my themes downloaded from other sources than those named above, sorry.

I thought I recognized that snow! I’ve used that one from DD a few times in the past myself. Excellent use of it here. I’m going to D/L this and use it for our staff blog this Christmas, if it’s ok with you.

Please feel free to use it wherever you’d like … that’s the whole point of releasing it, so others can use it.

Hey Nicki,
The images in my posts are dropping into the posts below them. I’ve got a mental block on how to fix it! (Padding isn’t doing it.) :sad:
Nevermind–I just took out those two image classes from the stylesheet and it’s all good now. :wink:
Not that it’s the best solution; I overdo the html in my posts, though, so it works for me. (I do img align=”right” or whatever the case is and put the padding inline–I know it’s technically incorrect but since I switch themes constantly it keeps things simple, since everyone does themes a little differently!)
